Mimi Johnston

MISSIONX  SUMMARY Mimi Johnston | Site: Complaining Turtle

I chose to make a blog from the first week of Mission X. I thought about making a video blog, but it didn’t actually happen. Instead, I made a site on Weebly. Personally, I think it turned out pretty well, and I had fun doing the project.

At the beginning during Camp week, I started making my blog look nice and coming up with a good name and title. I was scrolling through some of the default pictures on Weebly and found a turtle. While it’s not actually a box turtle, I decided to make that my theme: Box Turtles.

The entire process was pretty interesting. First, I had to figure out how on Earth I was to use Weebly. It took me awhile. After that was ironed out, I started to make my pages and think of things I wanted to review. That took even more time, but it was fun. In the end, I wound up with several tabs and lots of reviews on shows and books.

It was hard to figure out how exactly I wanted to make my blog, but as I kept working, I slowly got into the groove of things. I started by making each blog post personalized with a bit of my weird opinions and quirks thrown in.

I really had fun making the blog, and I want to keep working on it after Mission X ends. In my opinion, this project was a really good idea. I had fun with all the freedom in the project. I enjoyed the fact that we could work on our own with our ideas. In all, I had fun with the project, and I hope Mr. B. does it again next year.

Make your project personal. Also, once you start a review, finish it. It makes it easier to get any ideas out and not to forget what you wanted to write or say. Good Luck!
