MISSION▪X SUMMARY | Campbell Lindquist | Blog
During the first week of Mission X, I tried writing poetry and making a website. Towards the end of the week, I decided I wanted to write a blog about something I knew through and through. I realized there is nothing I know more about than me. Part of what makes me me is that I am a girl and have four brothers. I chose to make a guide for boys about middle-school girls.
I wanted to write entries a week at a time. The best format for that is a blog. I have never been a technologically advanced person, so I attempted a couple practice blogs in Weebly. Once I was happy with the way the blog was looking, I started writing my entries. I thought that a fun way to start my posts was with a quote. Searching for my quotes always got me in the zone for writing.
I never lost interest in my topic because it was so close to heart. Girls are very complicated, so it was always easy to find another thing to write about. The first page is called, “The Girl World.” On this page, I talk about things that guys might find confusing about girls. After that I created a page called, “How To’s.” I ended up writing over twenty entries.
I realized that to make my blog more authentic, I needed an About the Author page. So I added that. A couple weeks later, I added a new page to my blog. It is called, “Let’s Take a Vote.” It was a fun way to be interactive and let other girls’ opinions be heard. I did a survey to find out the first thing a girl notices about a guy after a short conversation. It was interesting that smile, personality, and hair were all ranked about the same. During my surveys, I could tell that the boys were excited about the blog. Some of the boys actually came to me and told how much they enjoyed it. I hope more people check out my blog!
