MISSION▪X SUMMARY Jack Barnett
Mission X was a blast. I worked on many things.
The first week, I worked on the beginnings of a newspaper and my dream booklet. By the second week, I was done with my dream booklet.
The third week I thought I’d try something new. I started writing poems. I wrote five that week, just meeting my goal. They were all different forms. I wrote reflections for four of them.
On week four, I tried to embrace my acting. I found a monologue on the internet and modified it. After that, I memorized it and performed it for the class.
Week five, I wrote a song about a moldy valentine. It took me all week long. It was really fun to write.
I worked on “trash thoughts” on week six. Trash Thoughts start with a picture. The picture makes me think of a word; the word makes me think of another word, etc. I did four that week.
I would have done something different week seven, but Mr. B. said I had to stay on course. That week I did two trash stories and did a ton of brainstorming for how to present the trash stories. Finally I decided I would make spinners with the cards.
I think Mission X is awesome, and Mr. B. should definitely do it next year as well. I achieved my goal every week and worked really hard. Mission X rocks! The thing I like most about Mission X is that the project starts with you. You set the goals, come up with the projects, and you evaluate your work.
