MISSION▪X SUMMARY Emma McGeough
I did three things this trimester for Mission X. I dropped two projects before I did something truly productive.
At first, I wrote letters to people who were important to me. I wrote arond twenty-three letters and then got bored. From the start of the project, I wanted to make a film. Lots of people said they were doing films, so I waited until most of them had either dropped the idea or finished their film. I started my film, Skinny Love, around the fifth week of Mission X.
First, I had to script the video. I decided I wanted to make it to the song “Skinny Love” by Birdy because the song really fit the type of video I wanted to make. After that, I had to find people to be in the video. This was probably the hardest part. I felt bad because I was filming in class and taking away from their time to work on their activities for Mission X. If I filmed outside of school, I would have been using their time and changing their schedule, and they both had afterschool activities. I made sure to film every other day so they had time to work on their own project in class.
Because I did all my editing at home, I decided to start a new project. I chose to take jump photographs, which are photographs of people jumping. I took one before, during, and after the jumps. I tried to take photos of students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, but I didn’t get everyone.

To get good performances out of your actors, don’t push them too hard.
