MISSIONX  SUMMARY Abigail Woodall | Site: The List

For Mission X, I knew I wanted to do something that included a bucket list. Most bucket lists contain a couple of things that people want to accomplish before they die. However, I wanted to have my bucket list be different.

I started by researching different things that people put on bucket lists to do before they die. I came up with more than twenty-five ideas that I wanted to try to accomplish. Once I had this list, I came up with deadlines for each thing that I wanted to do. Some of the deadlines were: before I die, before high school, before college, etc. After I had this list and deadlines to them, I began to write “how’s,” meaning the way I will accomplish this and why I want to. Writing the “how’s” was challenging, because I had to put deep thought into them.

Spring break came along shortly after I had finished the “how’s,” and over break, I had accomplished one of the things on my list: ziplining. It was a great experience. And now that I had finished something, what was I supposed to do next? I had the idea of creating a website/blog that had my list on it, and I could write about the things that I had accomplished. So I first wrote an entry about ziplining, and I designed a website. I came up with an official title for my project, a logo, different tabs, and different themes for my website.

Since I had a whole website designed, I was more inspired to accomplish things that were on my list. I also began to come up with more ideas to add to my list. I shared my website with family and friends, and I got great advice and suggestions from them.

I have never been a daring person. I used to be scared to travel away from home. I never wanted to be up high. But now with this exciting list full of adventures for me to conquer, I am excited to tackle new projects. Mission X has taught me to be a fearless leader and to overcome my doubts.
