MISSIONX  SUMMARY Megan McElroy

For my Mission X, the main thing I did was write about my experiences attending four The 1975 concerts. For the concert experiences, I wrote, in detail, about all the events that happened those nights. It totaled over 7,000 words. In addition to that, I also journaled about things happening with The 1975 and my opinions on all of it. For this, I have written fourteen entries, and those amount to 7,200 words.

That is way too much to show for my display. So I decided on making four mini-posters, one for each concert, that would include excerpts of all the writing I did. I also chose to include pictures from those dates to make the posters look more appealing.

I decided on this topic for my project because I wanted it to be something I was passionate about. Music is something I am very interested in. I am not very talented in making music or singing, but I love listening to it. I like to listen to new songs over and over again and hear all the layers of sound there are and analyze the lyrics to find the meaning of the song. So I knew if I chose to do a music-based project, I would not get tired of it. It would be something I would look forward to working on.

When we were first assigned Mission X, it made me so nervous. I had no idea what I was going to do. There were no guidelines or rubrics or anything of the sort. So my tip for all the students who will complete this project in the future is to discover what you are truly passionate about and just write about it. Write everything you can think to write about, and the ideas will come to you. It will turn into something great. Good luck!
